Talking Shop Ensemble are a Dublin based theatre collective who are interested in making work that speaks to the here and now. The company consists of theatre artists Aisling Byrne, Lisa Walsh and Shaun Dunne. Their shared desire to create work that is playful, pertinent and, most importantly, urgent has resulted in critical acclaim, support from the Arts Council of Ireland and several awards over the years.

Shaun Dunne is a playwright and theatre artist from Dublin. He is a trained journalist and drama facilitator - with elements of both these roles heavily informing his arts practice. Theatre credits include “Death of the Tradesmen” (Winner of the Fishamble New Writing Award and the Lir Revival Award) and “Advocacy” (Best Ensemble Award and Best Performer at Dublin Fringe) for Talking Shop Ensemble. Shaun is a graduate of the Abbey’s New Playwrights Programme and Rough Magic’s SEEDS. In 2014, Shaun made his Abbey Theatre debut with “The Waste Ground Party,” later shortlisted for the Stewart Parker Major Bursary. Shaun is currently working on new plays for The Abbey Theatre and Rough Magic while also artist in residence at The Ark. Other work includes “I’ve to Mind Her” at Dublin Theatre Festival, “Revolution Radio” for RTÉ and a series of texts to be performed as part of The Dublin Tenement Museum Dublin.
Aisling Byrne is founding member of the award winning collective Talking Shop Ensemble having collaborated on all of the companies work to date. Aisling is the Artistic Director of Run of the Mill Theatre; a Kildare based organisation supporting theatre artists and arts participants with intellectual disabilities upcoming & recent projects including Singing for Survival (Draiocht, 2019) & Reason in Madness (Draoicht, 2016) supported by the Arts Council of Ireland. Aisling works as a freelance theatre artist, educator, facilitator and lecturer specialising in arts and disability practice.
Lisa Walsh is an Actress, Voice-Over Artist, Theatre Maker and Speech, Drama & Communications Coach. Some acting credits for TV and Film include: Fair City, Game Of Thrones, Cluck (Dir. Michael Lavelle), Shadow Dancer (Dir. James Marsh) and Pat Short’s Mattie. For Theatre: Advocacy, I am a Home Bird (It’s Very Hard) and Do you Read Me? with Talking Shop Ensemble. The Poor Little Boy With No Arms (Dir. Oonagh Murphy), The Lesson (Dir. Zoe Ni Riordan). Nobody Smokes Anymore by Peter Sheridan (Dir. Aoibhinn Marie Gilroy). Lisa is a founding member of Talking Shop Ensemble Theatre Company, (winners of Best Ensemble 2014, Best New Writing 2013, Lir Revival Award 2013). Lisa trained in Drama and Theatre Studies at the Samuel Beckett Centre, TCD, the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, New York and in Contemporary Irish Theatre Practice at The Lir Academy.
